The POC Procen Air is a high-performance road cycling helmet designed to deliver time trial-level speed while ensuring comfort and ventilation for extended rides. Its aerodynamic design, influenced by POC's time trial helmets, features a smooth surface that efficiently cuts through the air. Ventilation inspired by the Venturi effect provides cooling across the entire head, with airflow channels that minimize disruption to maximize aerodynamic benefits.
An integrated visor replaces traditional sunglasses, enhancing the helmet's aerodynamic profile. The visor attaches magnetically, allowing for easy removal and storage on the rear of the helmet during rides. The included lens utilizes Clarity Road technology to enhance contrast and color definition, ensuring optimal vision on the road.
Developed in collaboration with EF Pro Cycling, the Procen Air underwent extensive rider testing to validate its airflow concepts. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) testing was employed to map airflow around and through the helmet, optimizing its shape for speed.
Additional features include ear covers for improved aerodynamics and comfort, as well as a lightweight yet protective expanded polystyrene (EPS) liner.
