The Sarto Seta is the companty’s most advanced frame to date. Recently updated with revised tube shapes, it is the pinnacle of performance with a construction that yields a bike for all days. Weighing just 750g for the frame, the weight belies the stiffness, stability, comfort and and performance of this eminently rideable bike.
The Seta features new flattened top tube and ultra thin chain stays with a x-shaped brake bridge to build additional compliance. Constructed from Toray M55J and M46J carbon, the Seta is made of the best and stiffest carbon the market has to offer. This type of high modulus carbon fibre ensures great compressive and tensile strength. The Sarto Seta also features an innovative integrated seat clamp for an improved aesthetic and stiffer rear end.
The Seta is the only frame in the the Sarto range that has no specific ride-type designation. The Lampo for example is clearly and Aero road bike while the Dinamica and Asola are race and climbing bikes respectively. This is because the Seta has been designed to be a complete all-rounder, ideal for the rider looking to buy their dream bike for all of their riding, from training rides, week long mountain forays and week-night crit racing. For many manufacturers this can often mean a drop in ride quality through compromises in stiffness or compliance, yielding frames that are potentially less adept in certain circumstances as in others.
Not so with the Seta. Often described as ‘close to perfection, Sarto’s tube-to-tube construction and unique fabrication processes allow them to deliver on all fronts. Sarto have several steps in their production that separates them from the rest of their custom carbon fiber frame-manufacturing competitors. Besides a lamination process that maximises tube strength and durability, layers of Kevlar are blended in the lay-up to increase impact resistance too, making them not only exceptionally light but strong as well. This additional strength reduces the need for over-building and as a consequence, the Seta features impressive stiffness-to-weight numbers. The high stiffness is offset with the subtely flattened top tube, ultra thin seat stays and X-shaped rear brake bridge which all help to build compliance in without sacrificing the beneficial lateral stiffness.
