With the P Zero Race SL-R, Pirelli is entering new spheres. The Italians wanted to make their fastest tire even faster and have almost surpassed their goal. It has 10% less rolling resistance and 20% better aerodynamics than the already excellent Race RS. In addition, the weight has been reduced by around 20 g. The Race SL-R thus sets standards by which the competition must measure itself.

But how did Pirelli manage to achieve these top values? On the one hand, years of experience in motorsport were incorporated into the development, but cooperation with the World Tour teams was also expanded and their feedback taken into account. In addition, countless wind tunnel tests were carried out and the results of material research were implemented. With the PAAS-Pirelli Advanced Aero System, the LiteCore carcass and the SmartEVO compound, advanced technologies are now available.The combination of these has made it possible to create a high-performance tire that is even faster in competition, but also benefits those who simply want to enjoy the advantages of the professionals.

PAAS-Pirelli Advanced Aero System
Aerodynamics starts with the tire. It is the point on the bike that first encounters the wind. Here too, valuable watts can be saved. The Race SL-R uses the PAAS with its special micro-profile surface. This shapes the impinging airflow in such a way that braking turbulence is reduced and, thanks to the so-called "sailing effect" at high speeds and crosswinds, propulsion is even generated.

LiteCore carcass
LiteCore is the fastest carcass in the Pirelli portfolio. It was created for maximum rolling efficiency. In addition, it is light and very supple and, together with the SmartEVO rubber compound, ensures grip and a safe riding experience. The very fine 120 TPI fabric also offers relatively high puncture protection.

SmartEVO2 compound
The SmartEVO2 compound has a new composition that further improves the already excellent performance of the previous road bike compounds thanks to new innovative production processes. Thanks to the slick profile with microstructure, you always have perfect grip with low rolling resistance, whether on dry or wet surfaces.

Tubeless-Ready TLR
To minimize the risk of punctures, the Zero Race SL-R can of course be ridden tubeless, but the structure consisting of several cut-resistant layers is very supple and does not increase the weight.
